Hello beautiful people, your girl's back with a review of the new Neve Cosmetics' Mascara - Lash Academy, natural glam for your everyday makeup.
I've never been fussy with my mascaras....let's say I've also never found one that would make me go "woaaah" in excitement. BadGal Bang by Benefit became my product to-go, but it was really never left on its own as over the years I have become addicted to falsies, a day spent with natural makeup was pretty rare in my routine.
Started out well right? By shading mascaras in favour of false lashes huh? Haha
The thing is, my natural lashes aren't that bad, but they're really flat, and even with the best result possible, once you go eylure you never go back!
I'm sad to say the event that sort of forced me to stop going full glam on a day out was work. When you wake up at 5am and have to rush, get a bus and two trains and argue with customers all day, whether your face looks snatched or not doesn't really matter. Am I right?
However, that doesn't mean you should look like a zombie. This little guy, Neve's new baby, helped me not to scare people away.

PACKAGING
I've said it before, I'll say it again - I love how more adult the new products look. They're sleek and professional, and Lash Academy is not disappointing at all. The tube is quite thin, it holds 7 ml of product and is light pink, with the logo and the name printed on it inside a beautiful frame.
My favourite thing about it aesthetically is the matte feel. Plus, I must add, it doesn't get dirty easily like some of my fellow bloggers told me. The spoolie is thin as well, and the bristles are even.
MY LASHES BEFORE & AFTER
Here's a little before and after of my lashes with both BadGal Bang! and Lash Academy, to compare the two, in case you're looking for a valid, more ethical alternative, especially if you have sensitive eyes.
Ladies and Gents, my lashes in all their glory. Below, in order, we have my Benefit mascara, and the last picture shows the effect of Lash Academy. The thing which catches the eye the most is the fact that both elongate the lashes quite a bit. Neve's product looks ever so slightly more clumpy, but not in an unpleasant way, and it gives slightly less volume. But it shocked me to find out they had the same lasting effect, and even if Lash Academy presents itself very, VERY liquid, it dries fast and won't move.
In both pictures the comb has separated the lashes and curved them well. There is nothing to complain about - is the moral of the story. Two coats and you're good to go. It stays all day and something else you need to add to the equation when looking at Lash Academy, is that it is very, very easy to remove at the end of the day, contrarily to all the other mascaras I've owned in my lifetime.
Well done Neve, congrats for another succeeding product, and for solving Occhioni's problem - getting dry too fast - without lowering the quality.
Thank you for reading and see you next time! X
