Introducing Rebel Epoque // A Collection by Neve Cosmetics

What does the Parisian Belle Epoque have in common with London’s Punk Scene?
Irreverence, nonconformism, a desire to shock and an unrestrained lust for nightlife.
Hello everybody! I am back from what felt like forever, with my beloved Neve Cosmetics. They brought out a complete collection, which I think will be this year's winner. The Rebel Époque!

"Neve Cosmetics presents Rebel Epoque, the makeup collection that celebrates a vicious and insubordinate kind of beauty.
The transgressive saturations, contrasts and shimmers of the collection are a shout-out to both the raucous sound of the Sex Pistols and the frantic rhythm of French Cancan.🎸
__
It’s a new aesthetic, questioning certainties and reversing dogmas in the name of an ambiguous, cross-sectional, unforgettable kind of beauty.
__
Rebel Epoque consists of three Pastello Occhi, an eyeshadow, an highlighter and a pressed blush, three Pastello Lipcolor, and two Vernissage inspired by the dynamism of Toulouse-Lautrec’s works."

PROMO:
'Till November 11th shipping is 1euro. The limited edition Rebel Époque full set is reduced to 66euros.
Save the Queen Highlighter

Hot light. Cognac orange-colored highlighter with light coral pink shimmers. Majestic, unapologetic, scintillating. Apply without restraints to illuminate cheeks, eyes, lips, body.
Ingredients:  Talc, Mica, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Magnesium Stearate, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylyl Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Tin Oxide. May Contain (+/-): Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Ci 77491 (Iron Oxides).
Save The Queen is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. As my exhausted self didn't take the time to fully ensure I was understanding all the products right, I initially thought it was an eyeshadow. And I say this because of course it can be used as one, but I only found out recently that wasn't its main purpose. It is a stunning rose gold kinda shade, which would pop even more on dark skin tones, but I found it particularly useful for creating eye looks. It's versatile, plus the formula is buttery like all shimmery eyeshadows from Neve, and that's what makes a winner for me to be honest.
Subterranean Eyeshadow

Deep, dirty, warm purple with brown undertone. Smoky and hazy, the color of the night sky distorted by city lights.
Ingredients:  Talc, Mica, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Magnesium Stearate, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylyl Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate. May Contain (+/-): Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Ci 77491 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77499 (Iron Oxides), Ci 15850 (Red 7 Lake), Ci 77510 (Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide).
Subterranean is a very dark purple, which is a colour I love, although it doesn't apply as smoothly as Save The Queen for example, not being exactly a shimmery shadow. It isn't overly pigmented, which is a good thing for non-makeup-experts like myself, as it will avoid to easily make a mess out of your face. I suggest using it for darkening the sides of a halo eye, to intensify an already present shade, or if you're a little more daring, to complete a smokey look.
Bruised Single Blush

Burnt dark mauve blush. A color with an instinctive and restless feeling to it. Stunning if used on eyelids to bring out green, gray and hazel eyes.
Ingredients:  Talc, Mica, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Magnesium Stearate, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylyl Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate. May Contain (+/-): Ci 77491 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77492 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77499 (Iron Oxides), Ci 15850 (Red 7 Lake), Ci 77510 (FERRIC Ammonium Ferrocyanide).
This is a matte, rougher orangy/reddish blush. I personally wouldn't say it's my favourite just because I don't like the look of it on my light skin. I think it's too much of a contrast, I would really need to use a VERY light hand to get just the perfect amount that wouldn't make me look silly, but why if there's already a variety of shades the brand has come out with. Again though, a darker skin would already be a perfect match for it, and that's something new. Plus I will definitely find a way to incorporate it to my eye make up routine.

The Pastello Pencils

I've said it before, I won't say it again. I think I rambled about the Pastello Pencils quite enough. You all know they're great, they are soft, have a great formula, and the lip liners can work just as well as an actual lipstick. The Pastello Eye pencils I found have two different types of formula and it depends really if you're gonna find some that are very quick and easy to apply and some others which will result in a tougher application.

LIPS:

Spiral
Orange red with copper shimmers. The color of the forbidden fruit, of a hypnotic dance, of a maze to get lost in.

Nihilism

Cloudy wine red with blue shimmers. A shade that speaks of cursed poets, smashed amps, dark stages.
Ingredients: Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Cocos Nucifera Oil, C10-18 Triglycerides, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Candelilla Cera, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Mica, Oryzanol, Tocopherol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Ci 77891, Ci 15850, Ci 77491, Ci 77499, Ci 77492.

EYES:

Like I said earlier, I found Swindle obviously being the most buttery of the three, and so pigmented it's unreal, whilst Relax goes in the middle, and Choker being the "most dry".

Swindle
Shimmery amber gold with brass undertone. Too sparkly not to fall for it…
Ingredients: Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Cocos Nucifera Oil, C10-18 Triglycerides, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Candelilla Cera, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Silica, Mica, Oryzanol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Tocopherol, Ci 77400.

Choker
The detail that turns an outfit upside down. The touch of madness that makes all the difference. Neon orchid with magenta undertone and a slight periwinkle sheen.
Ingredients: Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Cocos Nucifera Oil, C10-18 Triglycerides, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Candelilla Cera, Mica, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Oryzanol, Tocopherol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Ci 45410, Ci 77891, Ci 77742, Ci 42090.

Relax
Deep cool purple with blue undertone. The color of the night sky before the break of dawn.
Ingredients: Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Cocos Nucifera Oil, C10-18 Triglycerides, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Candelilla Cera, Mica, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Oryzanol, Tocopherol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Ci 77007, Ci 77891, Ci 42090, Ci 15850, Ci 45410.

Vernissage Lip Glosses

The Vernissage glosses are the best alternative for gloss-hating people. All you gotta do is choose the colour for you!
Regarding Rebel Époque, I am certain the team at Neve Cosmetics have made a smart choice with Dans le Lit and Cha-U-Kao, they provided both security and a "classic" shade and a more unique one, which can be adapted to any taste. Yes, Dans Le Lit has no defect whatsoever, it's a higher coverage deep cherry with a cold undertone, whilst Cha-U-Kao, if not used on its own, would give a slight twist, or je-ne-sais-quoi, to any dull colour. Brilliant for Autumn and the Summer time.

Dans Le Lit
Day or night? A clear and sensual hot pink light that brightens up the lips and switches off the rest of the world.
Ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Silica Dimethyl Silycate, Cera Carnauba/Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Dimer Dilinoleil Dimer Dilinoleate, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Lecithin, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Citric Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Water, Glycerin, 1-2 Hexanediol, Tropolone, Aroma (Flavour). (+/-) May Contain: Ci 77019 (Mica), Ci 77861 (Tin Oxide), Ci 77947 (Zinc Oxide), Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Ci 77491 (Iron Oxide), Ci 77492 (Iron Oxide), Ci 77499 (Iron Oxide), Ci 77742 (Manganese Violet), Ci 77007 (Ultramarine), Ci 77510 (Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide), Ci 42090 (Blue 1 Al Lake), Ci 19140 (Yellow 5 Al Lake), Ci 15850 (Red 7 Ca Lake), Ci 15850 (Red 6 Na Lake).

Cha-U-Kao
Warm clear orange. Scandalous and ever-changing just like the legendary cabaret artist it bears the name of.Ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Silica Dimethyl Silycate, Cera Carnauba/Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Dimer Dilinoleil Dimer Dilinoleate, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Punica Granatum Fruit Extract, Lecithin, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Citric Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Water, Glycerin, 1-2 Hexanediol, Tropolone, Aroma (Flavour). Comparisons

For this particular case, I believe comparative swatches are the best contribution I can give to you, knowing already pretty much everything about the products, so it definitely makes a difference when it comes to deciding what to buy, or more specifically, what you need or don't need.

Save The Queen, with its rosey undertones reminded me a lot of one of my favourites from Neve, despite how light it is, Mezza Estate. But I found out Save the Queen had a bit more brown to it, and was a darker version of it. As you can see, it's pretty much a unique shade.

Subterranean was a new entry, and I struggled to find a comparisons that would give it justice. Fiori d'Ombra is less mauve-y and darker.

Do you see the difference? Me neither, haha! They are VERY similar.

Swindle, how lovely, it's a dirtier gold than Sword, so it depends what you prefer. I love them both equally.

Tartan and Nihilism are different shades as well compared to the others, I couldn't find one that could be its sister, let alone twin.

Same with Spiral, which is the most peculiar of the Pastello Lip Liners, with that burnt orange you can never go wrong in the Autumnal season.

Well, well done, Neve Cosmetics, you never disappoint us. Even Relax proved to be unique, and let me say it's my favourite out of the three. Looks especially lovely if you've got green eyes.

For both Vernissages I haven't found a good enough comparison, maybe a slight resemblance between Mad Tea Party and Dans Le Lit. And I can just dream Neve coming out with liquid lipsticks of the same exact shades...Or maybe who knows in the near future what might happen. I can only hope guys. I'd be thrilled to review them for you. :')

Makeup Look

Finally, I propose to you this makeup look I posted on my Instagram, hoping you'll love it as much as I did. I used every single pan shade on my eyes and a Pastello+Vernissage combo on the lips.
