There you go guys, my piece on the new, reformulated lipsticks from Neve Cosmetics. Scroll down for a little introduction and review for their latest launch.
Neve has worked so hard lately on bringing out new products and correcting issues customers were having with some old ones, like they've done with the Pastello eye&lip pencils. Although I do not own the old version, I can say I haven't heard many good things about them, especially duration-wise. They were too creamy, rubbed off easily, and generally not something you could just put on and forget about for the rest of the day. But everyone who's tried the first attempt seems so hyped now these came out!
INTRODUCTION & PROMO:
Dessert à Levres: color has never been yummier.
Doing your lips is usually the sweetest and most sensual part of the makeup. Dessert à Lèvres is a cuddle in the shape of a lippie, a color feast in its most comfortable and buttery-soft version, a true pigment cream! What’s the secret? Lots of wholesome ingredients and a delicate smell of freshly baked treats, making the application a moment of pure bliss. A vegetarian, vegan, petrolatum/paraben/silicone-free formula, pampering the lips with a melting, full-bodied and intense finish. A creamy, concentrated texture, delivering a full and vibrant color in a single swipe. Each and every shade of Dessert à Lèvres is inspired by a different patisserie specialty.

APFELSTRUDEL
Rosy mauve with a nude sheen. Candy-like, hypnotic, subtly shimmery. He's one of the two lipsticks with a Satin finish, and probably the most sheer out of all 14 shades. The least pigmented, and my personal least favourite. It just looks so uneven, the opposite of what I would go for in choosing which one to give a try to, as I believe there's so much more potential in basically nearly all the reformulated semi-mattes Neve brought out. The only ideal candidates, in my opinion, for wearing it are the people with a pink undertone and paler skin.
The most luscious bright coral pink we could invent! An authentic "vitamin colour" for lips that always look fresh and vibrant.Fruit Sushi is too much. Just too much. It's like Pink Donut, but on steroids! So I'm definitely gonna stick to the more delicate coral of the collection.
Cold, pink nude. A sweet, delicate, and angelic shade that looks natural without fading into the background.A little too light and cold as a nude for me, as I prefer warm/beige toned nude shades generally.
Warm and intense red with chocolate undertones. Deep, elegant and totally sexy.Such a rich colour, would look good with any type of skin colour. It's one of the darkest shades and the shade of red I feel most comfortable with.
Pomegranate red with a subtle rosy sheen. Elegant and natural.A Satin shade just like Apfelstrudel, but darker and warmer. Again, not the best on me but, like I said, it could give much more to girls with a different undertone.
Delicate coral pink. A bubbly colour as sugary as glazed donuts. This lipstick's as sweet and inviting as its name. Perfect if you want to add a little sugar to your everyday lip routine.
Creamy fuchsia with a blue undertone. Velvety, scrumptious, sensual.I love - LOVE this colour. It is slightly less pigmented than the others, but once you layer and get the perfect amount of product, it performs as well as them. A brighter shade like this was definitely needed, for the most daring of us.
Cold dark pink with mauve undertones, this colour is inspired by the sakura mochi, a Japanese rice cake made of cherry leaves.Sakura Mochi is one of my favourite shades and i't's so long lasting! It's the first dessert à levre I tried and I was stunned by how long it lasted, and how gracefully it faded after hours.

Nude caramel brown with a warm undertone, matte finish. Unusual, crisp, special.
A must have, a warm brown I see looking great with a little tan for someone who, like me, isn't really keen on pink during the summer.
Cold raspberry fuchsia. Vibrant and dazzling with a creamy matte finish. Luxuriously luscious!Speaking of shades which nearly everyone loves to wear in the summer but look awful on me...This is one of them. Gorgeous, vibrant colour, it leaves the lips tinted even after wiping it off, but not exactly the way to go if you have a yellow undertone.
Intense plum with a beige undertone. Deep, luscious and elegant. The best of both worlds, the perfect mixture of colours that make a super versatile and wearable lipstick.
A red-based warm and intense fuchsia, the colour of strawberry syrup: the irresistible alternative to your traditional red lipstick! This one's a beauty. It brightens up my face with the simple addition of liner and mascara to the eyes. Good job, Neve, for creating such a yummy looking, sort of pink/red inbetween shade.
The perfect cherry red. Its cold yet intense and vibrant undertones are designed to make your teeth look whiter and adapt to suit any complexion. One of the dark two. Don't exactly know why this rich red looks warmer on my lips, although I don't mind it. Plus, I've been told it's really flattering on me! I guess it gives that Snow White vibe withe the dark hair.
Warm, pink, biscuit nude. Neutral and elegant, this nude has caramel undertones designed to give your lips a deliciously crisp amber shade. It's another favourite of mine. My ideal nude, imagine it with a brown smokey eye. So sexy. An everyday shade you can't say no to.
PACKAGING:
There's been a complete and dramatic change regarding the packaging of the Dessert à Levres. From plastic to mirror-metal as for the material of the bullet, Neve opted to keep the same colour for it but the effect and style have massively improved. They now look very sleek and professional. All these changes suggest how much the brand is maturing and how much care is put into delivering the best products to their customers.
INFO:
We have two types of finish: semi-matte & satin. The semi-matte ones are generally pretty pigmented. As they go opaque they're still really creamy but not so much to make them unmanageable. They take a while to mattify (about 15 mins).
The satin ones (Apfelstrudel & Raspberry Jelly) are a lot less pigmented and require several layers to start looking even on the lips. I can't say they're no transfer, but both types are really long lasting, I prefer them to my MAC matte lipsticks for sure, as they don't dry the lips out but stay put for quite a long time. They also smell like vanilla and that's always a plus.
