Neve Cosmetics came out on the 28th of September with this splendid idea, a product we were all hoping for, in 9 different shades. The aim of the brand was to create something that:
-Would have more coverage than a BB cream.-Would even out the skin.
-Would combine being long lasting & weightless.
-Would not contribute to worsening the condition of your skin and add a luminous effect to it.
Basically, the kind of foundation that doesn't feel like a foundation at all.
I appreciated the packaging, the more this brand grows the more it shows on the way they choose to style their lovely products. The foundation is stored in a little tube, 30 ml of liquid goodness to be precise, which is the right amount of foundation you would want (my Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation is the same exact amount). The applicator is a straight forward, sun-cream like one, and I would of preferred a small pump dispenser to have better control over the amount.
The colour of it is a pale, grey-ish lilac with a golden font for the writings. Approved.
What I think:
I definitely agree that it is the sort of foundation that all foundation haters would buy. The range of light shades are enough in my opinion, but I would of thought of darker skin toned people too, which unfortunately this launch lacked of. I understand this is their first sort of "try" though, and I hope they will add them in future projects. The foundation itself feels light and moisturizing. I have been advised to shake it well before use and apply it with my fingers, plus doing one area at a time, because it would oxidize quickly. I agree, because I tried it with both brush and beauty blender and the hand seems to really be the best option. Plus the foundation doesn't really get along with water, so if used with a beauty sponge sprayed in water/setting spray it will definitely take the foundation off your face whilst you're trying to put it on.
The Creamy Comfort Foundation has been a little tricky to figure out for me, and to apply. It is advertised as a perfect foundation for dry to combination skin, and as we all know my skin is PURE oil. My shade is "Light Warm".
I did something never seen on this blog, because I am not 100% well, I used my mum as a guinea pig to show the actual coverage factor of this foundation. She has oily skin like me, with quite big pores which no primer or foundation are able to conceal, but with a little Alabaster Touch Flat Perfection Powder (also by Neve) the result is absolute perfection. She has couperose, and is not really keen on using high coverage products, has tried a million types of BB creams but never felt fully satisfied.
Here's a before & after for you to judge (shade Light Neutral):
Well, well, well. It's a good one, no word of a lie. I still recommend it for people with dry skin, who just want to colour correct. If you get an oily T-zone, I suggest you put some powder on top of it. Seeing all its natural ingredients, and that it lasts nearly all day, even if it might not be the best match for me, I can definitely say I'm going to wait for a full coverage, matte liquid foundation. GO Neve, GO! ❤
