Neve Cosmetics Psicotropical Collection // Impressions, Swatches ❀

Oh hi there sweeties! Here's my say about the new #Psicotropical Collection by Neve! I hope it will be useful for any of you who are interested in purchasing one, two, or even all the products <3

Psico + Tropical
" A collection exploring the psychedelic power of colour. Psicotropical is a state of mind, the will to escape, wander, to lose oneself, for an instant or the whole summer time.."

It includes 4 Pastello Eye Pencils, a blush, 4 eyeshadow refills, 2 Pastello Lip Pencils and two Vernissage Glosses. It's so full of colours, summery, and the pigmentation of most has stunned me yet again from a quality point of view.
I said it is perfect for the summer, but obviously for the lucky ones who get to enjoy it! I have been and still am so busy with exams, hence the late post - I preferred taking my time testing all the products because 1.I get to share a more detailed opinion 2.I really haven't been out much, so I didn't wear any make up for most days haha!

Special thanks to Neve Cosmetics for this generous gift, obviously.

THE EYESHADOWS (5,80 €)

Info:
"Wet & Dry.
Size: 3 g of product in a 3,6 cm diameter pan.
Vegetarian & Vegan: no animal nor animal derived ingredients.
No silicones, petrolatum and parabens.
Cruelty-free: not tested on animals!"

We have two matte shades, Storm and Fly, and two shimmer shades, Tour and Lost. The colours shout summer, a summer spent on a tropical island with a cocktail in your hand, enjoying a soft breeze., which is not the sort of weather we're getting in Italy at the moment (Brief, sad story: last time I checked the temperature out - 40°) but a girl can dream ;)

Tropical, yes, psychedelic, a bit less but still pretty and fresh:

Storm

Storm is one of the matte eyeshadows from the collection, and surprisingly, my second favourite. I say surprisingly because by having a read of other reviews online I noticed an overall preference for the shimmery two. I personally LOVE it. It's a deep petrol green, matte. It's not too powdery but really dry, which means it's a little challenging to blend but once it's on it looks gorgeous and very pigmented! People say green doesn't look good on green eyes, but I'll have to disagree in this particular case.

Tour

Storm is my second favourite, because Tour is the absolute best one from the collection. I'm a sucker for warm toned colours, terracottas and browns when it comes to my eyes, and this copper brown is the best of both worlds really. The formula is very creamy, easy to blend and with a darker shade on the outer corner you will create the ideal summer look.

Fly

I must say Fly is my least favourite. Let me explain why: Fly, like Storm is matte and dry. Obviously, being an extremely light canary yellow, it'll be hard to notice any patches -which is a good thing - but at the same time, whilst it can get a completely different effect on really light, or really dark skinned people (who can even use it as highlighter if they want), when you're sort of "in between" the two, with an already yellow undertone, you pretty much notice barely any difference in colour. But don't get me wrong, what I can do for sure is use it as base for my eye makeup!

Lost

Lost is a shimmer, khaki green, probably a little less creamy than Tour, but very similar in formulation. It 's perfect if applied on the lid and accompanied by a darker shade on the outer corner, plus the best thing about it is that it goes with both warm AND cold toned colours. Pretty unique!

THE PASTELLO EYE PENCILS (5,80 €)

Info: "Size: wooden pencil, diameter 7.5 mm, length 138 mm.
Vegetarian & Vegan: no animal nor animal derived ingredients.
No silicones, petrolatum and parabens.
Cruelty-free: not tested on animals!"

I've had a good experience with basically all the Pastello Eye Pencils from the Psicotropical Collection, to be honest. They're creamy, soft (obviously not as much as the lip liners, but for a good reason), and above all, pigmented. They last all day. Thank you so much Neve, for adding so many colours to my extremely poor collection! The psychedelic vibe is stronger when it comes to the eye pencils, I must say, I admit I didn't have anything like it, especially that adorable lilac, Jacaranda, my absolute favourite of them all. My oily eyelid still, unfortunately makes it a little problematic as kajal, but the good thing is - they're so blendable you can easily use them as eyeshadow (*whisper* or as  lipstick if you're crazy like this one *whisper*): the number of looks you can create is unlimited!

Sombra

Desaturated, neutral matte brown, the colour of shadows on sand.

Palm

Vibrant and intense jungle green, matte finish.

Isla

Extra dark & deep ultramarine blue.

Jacaranda

Intense bright lilac, matte finish.

THE PASTELLO LIP PENCILS (5,80 €)

"Size: wooden pencil, diameter 7.5 mm, length 138 mm.
Vegetarian & Vegan: no animal nor animal derived ingredients.
No silicones, petrolatum and parabens.
Cruelty-free: not tested on animals!"

I've already expressed all my love and devotion for these lip liners in my previous post, and I can confirm that my opinion stays the same. They're so, soooo creamy and smooth, yet they won't smudge. Lots of people adore them, especially after their relaunch - the Pastello Revolution, and they are RIGHT. The range of colours is wide, they're "all over", as the brand feels proud to say, because they can be applied all over the lips.

I present you:

An intense ruby red with a satin, metallic finish. It's a stunning red I must say, a cold red, the only type of red I agree to wear. I like the idea of red lips in the summer, but I like a combination of them, eyeliner and big lashes with an oversized jumper on a winter's day even more. Again, I have nothing bad to say about the formula of any of these liners. The only thing left to decide is the colour!

Pitaya is a satin magenta. Another cold toned Pastello, as comfortable as her brother Lychee, but shinier. Having mainly matte pencils from Neve, this is a nice change, that I would see as ideal to brighten up a delicate spring or summer look!

THE VERNISSAGE GLOSSES (9,90 €)

Info: "Size: 4 ml packaging with flocked spatula applicator.
Vegetarian & Vegan: no animal nor animal derived ingredients.
No silicones, petrolatum and parabens."

Here we have the two glosses from the collection, which are both warm toned: Tiger in a Tropical Storm and The Voyage of Life
Being glosses, I wouldn't expect them to last the whole day, but they fade "softly" and won't leave any patches. All I can say is I cannot, CANNOT wait, for the day Neve comes out with liquid lipsticks, 'cause Imma be there!

This is probably my favourite one of the two, just because lately I've been feeling orange-toned stuff. I normally prefer cooler colours, purple, mauve, but I believe the summer vibes got to me as well as the rest of the world this year! I just feel like they go well with the season.

Tiger in a Tropical Storm (the name guys, THE NAME) is a warm orange-red colour with red brick undertones. Matte and extra covering.

Like my beloved Golconde, and the other gloss from this collection, this is a high coverage gloss. I'm pretty sure it would make anyone who's not into glosses change their mind, as it's quite dense and similar to a liquid lipstick, very comfortable. Yeah I would say it's a glossy liquid lipstick! :D

The pigmentation game is strong, it's easy to apply although it has that bigger, typical gloss applicator. Most people say it's hard for it to stay in place but I haven't personally experienced that.
However, no need for despair - apply a lip liner on the borders of your lips and it will stay put.

"Deep rosy orange-red with metallic reflects. Magic and evocative."
Yes, the first word that would come up in my head when talking about this particular Vernissage is "magic". It's a very sensual, warm pink. Maybe I don't grab it as often as Tiger, because of those little sparkles, but that's just because I'm a bit boring haha! I always feel like there needs to be a special occasion for me to choose to wear it, and most of the time I'm rushing and don't allow myself to add a bit of sparkle to the lips. But YOU definitely can ;)

Also, if you want to give it and extra "kick" I would try the combination Pastello Lip Pencil "Lychee" and "The Voyage of Life" on top. They look gorgeous together
THE BLUSH - Escape (5,80 €)

Info: "Wet & Dry.
Size: 3 g of product in a 3,6 cm diameter pan.
Vegetarian & Vegan: no animal nor animal derived ingredients.
No silicones, petrolatum and parabens.

Cruelty-free: not tested on animals!"

This blush is pretty, not gonna lie. It's a light coral pink with a matte finish. I'm not a blush hoarder, I usually would purchase one and keep using that one until I hit the pan, but I like Escape. I took the picture above and I struggled to get a decent swatch, so for a moment I thought it wasn't going to be extremely pigmented but at least buildable.
However, it didn't require as much effort when it came to applying it on my cheeks. The first time I tried it, being 100% sure it was going to need a second or a third layer, I ended up applying a bit too much than what I usually would go for... and, it was hilarious.
Jokes aside, I believe it gives a healthy colour to the face, and I like the fact that it's matte - oiliness free haha. Plus, it lasted for 7+ hours.
I would say it's ideal for somebody with a yellowy undertone, as well as people with darker skin. The pan is as big as the eyeshadow ones, and that may worry you, but it's not too powdery and there's barely any fallout, so I would say give it a go!

So... what are you going to buy? what shades intrigue you? Let me know in the comment section below! Thanks for sticking by and see you in the next one
